A the start of each season (September and January), the Kent Singers welcome new singers in all parts. Come and blend with the clean, finely pitched sound of the group. Experience in choral singing, on the church level or other performance level, is helpful. Give us a call or e-mail any time to learn more.
Kent Singers performs mostly a cappella works under the direction of group members with experience conducting. We typically present major concerts in December and in the spring.
In spring 2011 we gave two performances in May of our concert "A Bit of Spring, Love and Laughter," and a third concert, "Songs for a Summer Afternoon," in June. In addition, we participated in a Choir Festival in Washington in May.
Performances for the 2011 Christmas season will be on the afternoons of Sunday, December 4 in Bridgewater and Sunday, December 11 in Kent.
Spring, 2012 -- In addition to our usual spring concerts, we will present the Faure Requiem with the Sherman Chamber Ensemble on Sunday, June 10.
Rehearsals are on Wednesday evenings from 7:00-9:00 at the Kent Center School on Elizabeth Street in Kent.
Rehearsals for the spring 2012 season will resume on Wed., January 4. Give us a call before that if you are interested in joining us.
The programs Kent Singers develops include early music, baroque, classical and modern works.
