- Conductor and Artistic Director -
Marguerite Mullée was named Artistic Director of the Kent Singers in 1999. She is also Music Director and Professor of Music at Holy Apostles College in Cromwell, CT and Music Director for the South Kent School in South Kent, CT. In addition, she conducts a chorus dedicated to chant and polyphony at the Trinity College Chapel in Hartford, CT and teaches private lessons in voice, piano and conducting in Kent. She has served as professor of Conducting at the Brooklyn Queens Conservatory, music director/conductor of the Millennium Orchestra, a multi-generational instrumental group in New York City, Music/Artistic Director of the Connecticut Conservatory of the Performing Arts, founder and music director of the Joyful Noise Ensemble in Katonah, NY and has conducted numerous community, festival and church choirs in New York and Connecticut.
While completing her doctorate in conducting at Columbia University, she worked closely with Dino Anagnost and served as assistant conductor for the Metropolitan Singers/Greek Choral Society as well as the Little Orchestra Society in New York City. In addition to Maestro Anagnost, she has studied conducting with Robert Shaw, Joseph Flummerfelt, Dennis Keene, Peter Bagley and Robert Page and has been chosen a Conducting Fellow for the Dennis Keene Choral Festival for two consecutive years. An active choral clinician for community and church choirs, she also presents workshops and lectures throughout the Northeast, including the University of Connecticut, Manhattanville College and the Summer Festival at Caramoor in Katonah, NY.
